Design Registration
Under Section 2(d) of the Designs Act, 2001, a design is defined as the features of shape, pattern, configuration, composition, or ornamentation — whether in two-dimensional, three-dimensional, or both forms — that are applied to an article through industrial processes (manual, mechanical, chemical, or a combination thereof). The design is judged purely by the eye in its finished state, excluding any functional or mechanical aspects of the article’s construction.
