The India-Chile Preferential Trade Agreement (ICPTA) was established to enhance economic cooperation and strengthen trade relations between the two countries. Signed on January 20, 2005, this agreement laid the foundation for a Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA) between India and Chile.
Following this framework, the PTA was finalized in November 2005, outlining a list of products on which both countries grant fixed tariff preferences to each other under two annexes. Additionally, three annexes define Rules of Origin, Preferential Safeguard Measures, and Dispute Settlement Procedures.
The Indian Cabinet approved the agreement on February 23, 2006, and it was officially signed on March 8, 2006. After receiving approval from the Parliament of Chile in April 2007, it was formally signed by the President of Chile on August 16, 2007, and by India on September 11, 2007. The agreement’s implementation was notified to the WTO on January 13, 2009. In 2016, the scope of ICPTA was expanded, incorporating additional products under its provisions.
To apply for ICPTA Registration, the following documents are required:

To successfully obtain an ICPTA Certificate, follow these steps:
1️. Create an Account ID – Register using an organization-based Digital Signature Certificate (DSC).
2️. Apply Online – Submit an online application for the Certificate of Origin (CoO).
3️. Fill Out the Form – Provide all required details accurately.
4️. Upload Documents – Attach the necessary supporting documents.
5️. Certificate Issuance – Once verified, the ICPTA Certificate is issued.
